We thought it fitting, that on the day of his second studio album release, announce that Victor Provost Music will be our guest artist in April. The Pan Devils are thrilled and privileged, thanks to the support of the ASU School of Music and the Arizona Caribbean Cultural Association, to be able to host the St. John-native and current professor at George Mason University. Victor dazzles audiences with his unique ability to meld both jazz and Caribbean sensibilities, as he regularly conducts residencies, masterclasses, and performances as a touring musician across the globe. He has recorded with jazz greats like Wynton Marsalis, Hugh Masekela, and Dave Samuels among others. Victor, a leader in the newest generation of steelpan players, offers a fresh and invigorating sound on an instrument still in its first hundred years of existence.
Mark your calendars for April 18th at 10:00am at the Tempe Center for the Arts and April 19th at 7:30pm at Katzin Concert Hall at the ASU School of Music. Both concerts are free and will be must-sees for all jazz, pan, and music lovers!
